Archive for October, 2008

We’ve been getting lots of calls and emails from people who missed the holiday mini-sessions.  We’ve started a list, and if we have enough people we’ll grant your wish and do one more full day of minis (see all the information if you scroll down to the Holiday post).  So please email or call us and get on the list if you are interested.

Also, we MAY extend our November 14 holiday cutoff an extra week, if we get enough requests to do so.  You may leave a comment here if you would like.  The 14th is the last day we GUARANTEE holiday delivery, but we will still take sessions and do our very best to get your orders here on time for Christmas.  If your session takes place after November 14, you can pay a surcharge guarantee delivery, too.

Nicky Todorovich: I would be interested if you schedule another holiday mini session. We would have scheduled one before but they didn't fall on days we were available so if you could let me know the date as soon as you decide that would be great. Thanks so much. Nicky todorovich

Sammy Oxendahl: Andrea, I love the image of her in the grass. Completely inspired!

I’ve been lucky to get some very creative and fun clients lately!  The brass bed in the field with the striped jammies is one of my favorite ideas to date.  I had tons o’ fun with these darlin’ kiddos, as you can see!

Sammy Oxendahl: What a great shoot. I love that your clients were in on the creative process like that. They will love these!

Trick-or-Treat heads up

October 4, 2008

This Halloween we’ll be participating in the Downtown Helena “Little Tyke Trick-or-Treat” for the first time ever. Not only will we be handing out treats and coupons, but we’ll be offering portraits of your kiddos in their Halloween finery, too! And everyone who is photographed will be entered into our Best Costume contest. Winners will recieve a special portrait session (details to be announced).

We are considering adding an additional day for Halloween mini-sessions. If you are interested please let us know and we’ll finalize a date and details.

Sammy Oxendahl: What a great idea!! Such a very scary dragon indeed. Don't you just want to eat him up?!

We’re doing things a little differently this year with our Holiday Mini-sessions. We’ve blocked off two full days, one weekday (Tuesday, October 28) and one Saturday (October 25), to accommodate busy schedules. We expect to book very quickly, so call now to get on the calendar.

Here’s the skinny:
Sessions will last 15-20 minutes. We will post a private online gallery with a shopping cart for your ordering convenience. You’ll pay a $25 session fee at the time of booking to hold your timeslot for you, and then $100 towards your order is due at the time of the session. You must purchase the Holiday Collection, which includes one pose, but you may purchase as many poses and additional prints as you wish. We’ll choose the backdrop in advance and post it on the blog so you can start shopping your hearts out for the perfect outfits for the kids! If you have a color preference, leave a comment on this post and we’ll see which one we get the most requests for.

All portraits listed are heavily discounted for sessions taking place on these two days only. Other portrait sizes as well as our specialty products, such as our beautiful photo handbags and jewelry, canvases, fine art books, and more are available at our regular prices.

The Holiday Collection $199
(1) 8×10, (2) 5×7s, (8) wallets, one box (25) fine art flat photo cards with envelopes (one pose) $199

Add-ons:
Additional poses $15 each
4×6 $15
5×7 $20
8×10 $30
(8) wallets $30
Fine art cards $ 75/box

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! The holiday deadline for 2008 is November 14th to guarantee Christmas delivery of prints or cards. After this date there will be a limited number of rush orders available for an additional fee. Specialty products such as gallery wrapped canvases, photo handbags or jewelry may have earlier deadlines depending on the vendor.

If you miss the boat and can’t make the special holiday session, call early to get on the calendar for a regular session. We are booking into the end of October already, and the deadline of November 14th applies to all types of sessions.

BACKDROP: For the holiday mini-sessions, we have decided to use a red and black background. It’s very subtle and dark, not crazy at all. You’ll love it! So plan clothes accordingly please!

Daisy + Jordon : Wedding

October 3, 2008

Daisy and Jordon win our “Artsy-ist Couple of the Year Award’! Fresh from a cool little liberal arts college in Vermont (okay, folks, I have no idea about these things, I was an engineer, after all!), they had lots of great ideas of how their wedding day would flow. And flow it did! I can’t recall anything at all going wrong, I am pretty sure that between them and their families they had every little detail planned out and perfected. From the carriage drawn by adorable mules to the special dress Daisy changed into before their rehearsed dances (no one could see her fancy footwork with that big ol’ wedding gown on!) to the candy buffet straight out of Martha Stewart and the beautiful flowers and favors (handmade by Daddy Dyrdahl). I was in detail heaven!!! The ceremony and reception took place at the Elkhorn View, so the scenery was gorgeous, and all their fun family and friends with their groovin’ dance moves made for some great photo opps! And mixed in with all the perfection of their day, Daisy and Jordon are so very much in love, too, in case I forgot to mention that!

Vonda Dyrdahl: Oh Andrea, these are more beautiful than I had expected, and having seen you work I expected a lot!! Thank-you sooo much.
